Hi, I’m Bobbi, the photographer behind Bobbi Petersen Photography. I’m a Madison Wisconsin wedding, family, portrait, and corporate photographer working with clients throughout Wisconsin and traveling worldwide. I photograph weddings, families, professional headshots, and branding imagery with a focus on connection, comfort, and images that feel natural and lasting.
My work blends warmth, movement, and honest storytelling. Whether I’m documenting a wedding day or creating professional headshots, the goal is always the same: images that reflect who you are and the relationships that matter most.
If you have questions or would like to schedule a session or wedding consultation, feel free to reach out at bobbi@guildedgrey.com. I’d love to work with you!
If we spend any amount of time together, you’ll probably learn these things pretty quickly…
Enneagram: 3w4
Music: My playlists are all over the place. You’ll find Led Zeppelin, Zach Bryan, Avenged Sevenfold, 90’s country, The Traveling Wilburys, Queen, The National, Lord Huron, and Taylor Swift all living happily together.
Drink of Choice: Black coffee every morning. After that, give me a great whiskey, a glass of red wine, or if we’re celebrating, Blanton’s.
Favorite Conspiracy: I have what I can only describe as a real life “glitch in the matrix” story. Ask me about it sometime.
Current Hobby Era: I fully commit to new hobbies. I research them, buy all the supplies, spend way too much money, become completely obsessed… and then promptly find a new hobby. Somehow gardening has survived, and lately I’ve also been enjoying bird watching and embroidery.
Favorite Season: Camping season. Euchre season. Honestly, anything that gets me outside with good people.
Favorite Places: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to photograph weddings around the world. One of the highlights of my career was photographing a wedding in the Australian Outback. Outside of that, you’ll always find me dreaming about returning to Italy, Greece, Norway, and the Galápagos Islands.
My family and I live on a private 35 acre property in Madison Wisconsin that includes a flower field and a climate controlled greenhouse reserved exclusively for my clients. It’s a calm, beautiful space designed for photography in every season.
One of my favorite phrases is “Be Kind.” Kindness sits at the center of how I work and how I show up, both personally and professionally. It sets the tone on wedding days, during sessions, and in every interaction along the way. That mindset tends to attract like minded people, and it’s a big reason the experience feels personal, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable.
I’m very hands on and involved from the first conversation through the final images. I guide when needed, speak up if I see a concern, and take charge calmly when plans shift. My approach is warm, interactive, and relaxed. Nothing feels stiff or overly posed, and no one is left wondering what to do.
My clients tend to be fun, laid back, and prepared. They trust the process and show up ready to enjoy the experience. Whether it’s a wedding, a family session, or professional headshots, I focus on real interaction and natural movement so the images feel honest, comfortable, and true to life.
